This organ was originally owned by Elizabeth Iverson Cross of Marion N.C. She was born Jan 15th 1938 and tragically killed at the young age of 14 in a plane crash along side her father Simeon Roane Cross (president of the Cross Cotton Mills Co., Marion, N.C.) and two other youths Robert Eugene Lambeth and Billy Wilkerson, both age 15 on Nov 3rd, 1952. The organ made it's way to Lancaster S.C. where it was purchased from Tommy Gaddis and shipped to Cambridge, VT. The organ arrived literally in pieces and was claimed at a total loss. FedEx had no interest in reclaiming the organ for salvage. Rather than submitting this organ to a fate similar to it's original owner, I undertook the daunting task of reconstructing it in memory of Elizabeth. It will be given to my little niece Lucinda and transported by car to Gatineau, QC in Canada.
