MASON & HAMLIN
ROS Reg No. 6584

This is a predominately wooden MASON & HAMLIN pump organ (reed organ). It is likely walnut wood. It has two carpeted foot pedals. The carpet once had a red center with beige flowers and a beige border with olive-coloured flowers. There is gold-coloured stenciled lettering on the front of the organ when the top is opened up. In the center there are five stops.

On top of the front board is a music rest (it has its top broken off). The cover is hinged with three brass hinges. The front of the cover has a dart moulding at the top and a scrolled wooden design of fleur-de-lis. The keys are ebony and ivory. Under the keys, there is a cloth screen with a panel, under which is some bead moulding (large at the bottom, smaller at the top. There is a hinged wooden volume control (paddle under the keyboard). On the base of the organ is another scrollwork pattern surrounded with bead moulding. There are ornamental balusters at each corner of the organ. They have rosette designs and ancanthus.
