The serial is hard to work out. It has been over-stamped. The markings look like the original font, so I would hesitate to stay it was over-stamped at time of production. "3502" appears to be stamped deeper into the wood than "3494". There is also "212" stamped above, possibly a part or action number. Possible date range is 1883 - 1890, to be confirmed.
