BRIDGEPORT ORGAN CO.
ROS Reg No. 7090

Believed to have been bought in the late 1890s by my great grandparents who lived near Leeds in the UK. It spent the first few decades in the North of England finally with a relative in Cumbria. In the 1960s it came to our family home in Coventry, and then to its final home in Scotland in the late 1970s. It has always worked, apart from one note in the Celeste/Celestina rank. In recent years the pumping action became very weak so it was barely playable. I've recently refurbished it, fitting new bellows straps and repairing a couple of small tears in the reservoir. The pumping now seems very good and will hold suction for some time after you stop pedalling. I don't think it has probably been cleaned before as the inside had plenty of black dust, probably the result of living in a coal mining and weaving town.
