ESTEY, J., & CO.
ROS Reg No. 6548

Located in Vermont. Was free via Craigslist. I was going to salvage it for the wood, but I didn't have the heart. Was damaged by carelessness, temperature and humidity extremes, rodents, and moths. I'm currently about 4 months into my attempt at a restoration. (2019). All 183 reeds are cleaned and reinstalled, but damaged a couple of the cells. Bellows are sufficiently repaired to be operable (1 exhauster completely redone w/ new cardboard and leather. Smashed tremolo is repaired, and seemed functional when I did a trial run. Still working on the leather and felt bits. Thoroughly disassembled and cleaned. Finish is toast, so gently refinishing with shellac. Some smaller cabinet components are complete ( key slip, kick panel, and so forth). Will attempt to turn replacements for the one missing handle, as well as the stop knobs. Stripped cabinet is on track to be recoated soon
