D. W. KARN pump organ. Its serial number is stenciled on the back in large numerals: "No. 45223" "STYLE 63." It has decorative fretwork and a mirror at the top. This decorative piece can be unscrewed (two screws), so it was given the number "B". The mirror is a horizontal oval, and it has a beveled perimeter. The mirror is flanked by fretwork and two short, triple-turned spindles. The corner pieces have incised carvings, with trefoil-shaped tops. The ends also have incised carving. No lettering observed on this piece. The backs of the spindles are flattened to make them flush with the rest of the back. A curved wooden dust cover protects the keys when they are not in use. It has a keyhole, but the key is missing. The organ has seventeen circular stops, which are all in one row. There are two hinged wooden pieces in the knee area which can be opened and closed. There are two foot treadles which still have old carpet on them. They also have two plated metal heel protectors on them. The top front area has incised carving for decor and has a tilting panel, behind which is a central storage compartment containing one shelf. The wooden compartment has pivoting, shaped wooden pieces on its short sides.
